LIVE CONCERT PRODUCTION: Level I

2 Hour Class, Meets once a week for 6 weeks
Class Days and Times: Saturdays 10:00 AM to 12 PM
Classes Start: open enrollment

For students 12 to 18 years old who are interested in learning the skills to handle the exciting jobs that take place behind the scenes of every live concert. From running sound, lights and promotion to stage setup and microphone techniques, this course will set you on the path to produce and run a successful live show.

Students learn introductory level skills to:

  • run a live sound board
  • operate a lighting board
  • design a light show
  • set up a stage
  • use professional microphone techniques
  • control the monitor and main speakers
  • record a live performance
  • book and market a live engagement

At the conclusion of two 6 week courses, students will become assistant production managers for school recitals and concerts on WIRE’s Main Stage. Along with a faculty advisor they will assist in all aspects of executing a successful concert. The most effective and fun way to get great working experience and learn very valuable, enjoyable and marketable skills.
